Accommodation South Korea introduces

The Robin Boyd Foundation's open day on 1 March invites the public to explore recent heritage adaptations of two 1970s Melbourne residences: the Ramsay House (1970-72), originally designed by architect Charles Duncan and sensitively restored and adapted by Richard Stampton Architect; and Crossman House (1978), a Kevin Borland-designed residence thoughtfully reworked by Wowowa to better suit contemporary family life while honouring its distinctive internal garden and double-height atrium.

Perth Design Week (PDW) returns this 19 March with a curated, week-long program of panels, exhibitions and activities celebrating architecture and design. Among the program highlights is Home, a series of conversations where architects share insights from residential projects. In the first session, Nic Brunsdon, founder of Brunsdon Studio, will be joined by David Gibson co-founder of PTX Architects. Another highlight, the Chirriger Moort: A 30 Year Retrospective of the Work of Peter Farmer exhibition will trace the three-decade creative journey of Noonga artist and designer Peter Farmer, whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, public art, fashion, interior design and the built environment.

Sketching out the early cultivation of professional practice in Australia, Loose Leaf explores landmark and little-known projects by Tract from the 1970s and 1980s, from garden design to landscape architecture, and the emergent interdisciplinary thinking. Loose Leaf draws on observational and archival material, tracing the foundations of Tract from its origin within Merchant Builders. The exhibition will run from 12 to 22 March at the Robin Boyd House in Melbourne's South Yarra.

Presented by Parlour as part of its Parlour Lab series, this one-hour online event on 11 March will see urban researcher Rachel Gallagher and urban geographer Nicole Cook with Kali Marnane and Rebecca McLaughlin to unpack the many relationships between land use, lot size, planning controls and housing typologies. Together they'll explore what these forces reveal about how we understand and deliver density.

Henville Street House by Philip Stejskal Architecture will open its doors as part of Design Freo's On Location series. Conceived as a robust yet adaptable family home, the project pairs corrugated iron, timber, galvanised steel and steel mesh in a material palette that is both hardworking and warmly textured. Homeowner Isabella will join Philip Stejskal for a tour of the home, sharing firsthand insights into the thinking behind the design.
